The BYOS program allows users to bring their own Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensors to use with Nutrisense. However, there are specific limitations and requirements depending on the type of sensor being used. Below, we’ve outlined the key details for each supported sensor:
Dexcom Sensors
1. Dexcom Stelo
- Data Delay: 3-hour delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Only compatible with iOS devices.
- App Availability: The Dexcom Stelo app must be downloaded from the App Store in the user’s country of origin. This may pose a challenge for individuals traveling internationally.
2. Dexcom G7
- Data Delay: 3-hour delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Only compatible with iOS devices.
- App Availability: The Dexcom G7 app must be downloaded from the App Store in the user’s country of origin. International travelers may encounter issues with app access.
3. Dexcom G6
- Data Delay: 3-hour delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
- App Availability: The Dexcom G6 app must be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store in the user’s country of origin. International app access may still be restricted.
FreeStyle Libre Sensors
1. FreeStyle 14 Day (Libre 1)
- Data Delay: 20-minute delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
- App Availability: The FreeStyle Libre 14 Day app must be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store in the user’s country of origin.
2. FreeStyle Libre 2
- Data Delay: 20-minute delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
- App Availability: The FreeStyle Libre 2 app must be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store in the user’s country of origin.
3. FreeStyle Libre 3
- Data Delay: No delay in glucose data.
- Device Support: Compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
- Important Note: To ensure proper functionality, the Libre 3 sensor must be connected directly to the Nutrisense app when applying a new sensor. Connecting the Libre 3 to any other app may result in data synchronization issues.
- App Availability: The FreeStyle Libre 3 app must be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store in the user’s country of origin.
For all supported sensors, users must ensure the app associated with their sensor is successfully installed and set up prior to sensor activation. Users traveling internationally should verify app availability in their destination country, as regional restrictions may apply.
Important Note About FreeStyle Libre Sensors
FreeStyle Libre sensors must be purchased within the United States to ensure compatibility with the Libre apps and the Nutrisense app. Libre sensors purchased outside of the U.S. may have compatibility issues with the apps.
