Welcome to the Nutrisense community! Now that you have your CGM on, it's time to activate it so we can start gathering valuable data for your health journey.
Here's how to activate your sensor:
- Open the Nutrisense app.
- Tap the green + button.
- Select "Scan"
- Once the "Ready to Scan" prompt appears, place the area of your phone that has the NFC near the CGM device and hold it there for a second. You should feel a vibration once the sensor has been scanned. If you're using an iPhone, the NFC is located on the back of the phone near the camera. The NFC location for Androids varies by device.
CGM devices can take up to one hour to appear activated within the app, but don't worry! Continue scanning, and the data will begin to log in the data section of the app.
If you're using an Android device, please make sure NFC is turned on by going into Settings on your phone and searching for the NFC option. You will not be able to activate or scan the sensor unless this option is toggled on!
It's important to note that the first 24 hours of the collected data may be inaccurate since the CGM is calibrating during this time period. Please don't be alarmed if the values seem to fluctuate excessively.
You can start scanning your device 30-60 minutes after activation. The CGM collects data in 15 minute increments and will capture the last 8 hours of readings. We recommend scanning right before bed and right when you wake up to capture as much of the night data as possible. The more often you scan, the better!
Within one business day of activating your first CGM,, your dietitian will reach out in the app to answer any questions you have and provide support. In the meantime, get used to meal logging and activity tracking!
Don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team if you have any questions or concerns. We're here to support you every step of the way on your health journey!
