We are constantly working on improving the Nutrisense app. This week's update will allow you to change your glucose thresholds and sync hour Health App data!
Updating
Updating is very simple. There is no need to re-install the app. Just follow these steps:
-
Close the app, re-open it, and wait 10 seconds (make sure you have an internet connection)
-
Force close the app by swiping it away in the App Picker
-
Open the app again
You should now see the new updates!
Glucose Thresholds
You can now change your upper and lower glucose thresholds. This allows you to clamp down on your glucose spikes even more (if you are trying to enforce a keto lifestyle for example) or loosen things up a bit if you decide to take a week off. Changing the limits is easy.
-
Go to Settings
-
Tap Health Settings
-
Select your Low and High Thresholds
This will change the height of the green area on your glucose chart.
Health App Sync
As you can see in the screenshot above, there is a new option to enable/disable HealthKit Sync. This is enabled by default and it allows the Nutrisense app to read the data from your iPhone's Health App. Things like Steps Taken, Flights Climbed, Distance Walked, Sleep, Exercise data and more can be automatically synced to the Nutrisense app and made available to your nutritionists if you keep this option enabled!
The values will show up in both your Measurements and Activities tabs depending on the type of data. For example, Steps Taken is a measurement taken at the end of the day, while Sleep is an activity with a specific start and end time. Read more about measurements below!
Measurements
To better support syncing with various activity trackers and health apps (including Apple's Health App), we have added the concept of Measurements. Unlike Activities which have a start time and and end time, a measurement is a single numerical value taken at a specific point in time.
At the moment, the following measurement types are supported:
-
Blood Glucose (from finger stick)
-
Blood Ketones
-
Body Fat Percentage
-
Body Temperature
-
Cycling Distance
-
Running Distance
-
Flights Climbed
-
Step Count
-
Weight
These values do not currently show up on your glucose chart since they don't necessarily affect your glucose values. However, you can still see your measurements by tapping Measurements in the drawer menu. We will be adding interesting ways to visualize your measurement data in the future!
To enter a new measurement:
-
Tap the + button
-
Select Measure
-
Select a Measurement Type and enter the time and numerical value
-
Tap Save
As always, we welcome your feedback so please let us know which features you would like to see in the future!
